Swift Current Rally Draws a Crowd
A crowd gathered over the noon hour on Wednesday in support of Dorie's House in Swift Current. Local youth carried signs in support of provincial funding for SWYES while others took to the podium sharing their personal experiences of living on the street. SWYES is hoping for provincial funding to assist with the annual operational costs of $350,000 to re-open the doors of Dorie's House. At this point in time the Ministry of Social Services has stated Dorie's House is not on their funding radar as their data indicates any youth on the street are already covered by other support groups in the community.
