Saskatchewan Airports to Receive Provincial Funding
The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $700,000 in the Community Airport Partnership (CAP) Program to enhance infrastructure to 15 community and regionally-owned airports. CAP funding is available to qualifying airports that support economic development, accessibility and safety initiatives. Grants are cost-shared on a 50/50 basis up to a maximum amount and are used to enhance infrastructure so that community and regionally-owned airports can continue to serve the growing province. Airports in the Southwest receiving funding include: Swift Current $15,000 (Asphalt maintenance), Shaunavon $33,100(Runway repair),RM of Frontier $49,350(Recap airport apron).
The Government of Saskatchewan has invested more than $6.3 million in 37 locally-owned airports through the CAP Program since 2007.
