Roadside Stop Leads to Drug Charges

On June 27 at 3:45 pm, Swift Current Municipal RCMP stopped a vehicle that the officer saw make a sharp turn onto 3rd Avenue NE in Swift Current. During the vehicle stop, the following drugs were seized: morphine pills and a liquid and solid form of a drug believed to be a blend of heroin and fentanyl. Three adults are facing charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

26 year old Braydon Michael Stark and 30 year old Courtenay Morencie-Stark have been charged with possession of heroin, possession of morphine and fentanyl. They will make their first appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on July 18. 26 year old Cody Ronald Nast has been charged with two counts of breaching his recognizance, trafficking fentanyl, trafficking heroin, possession of fentanyl and possession of heroin. Nast made his first appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday June 27 and was remanded into custody for another court appearance on June 29.
