Provincial Fire Ban Lifted in Saskatchewan
Following rain in numerous areas of the province and cooler temperatures, the ban on open fires for all provincial Crown land South of the Churchill River, has now been lifted, therefore, there are now no active provincial fire bans in Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, Campfire Restrictions remain in place for Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and the Cypress Lake Recreation Site as extreme dry conditions remain in that area. Campfire restrictions in all other provincial parks and recreation sites are lifted. Municipalities, regional and national parks may have burning restrictions in place that are not affected by lifting the provincial ban. Please check with local authorities to see if other restrictions apply in your area, or where you are planning to travel. When using fire for any purpose, please take care. Between April 1 and October 3, fires in or within 4.5 kms of the provincial forest, require a burn notification number, available free from your nearest Forest Protection Area office.
