Producers Busy With Hay Crops

According to the latest update from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, hay season is well underway across the province, with 19 percent of the hay crop cut and 10 percent baled or put into silage. In the area of crops, most are at their normal stages of development for this time of year, however, there are some crops that are behind due to moisture issues. 26 percent of fall cereals are in the dough stage while 9 percent of spring cereals are in the heading stage, 2 percent of flax, 30 percent of canola and mustard and 37 percent of pulse crops are flowering.
