Heat Warning for the Swift Current Area.
Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for the Swift Current area. Unseasonably hot temperatures are expected to continue in southwestern Saskatchewan for another day, as a blocking ridge of high pressure maintains a light southerly flow over the area. Highs in the mid thirties today will drop to just under the 20 degree mark tonight, then rebound again to the low thirties on Thursday. A weak cold front moving through the area on Thursday will bring much cooler temperatures Thursday evening, although temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal normals into September. You're advised to watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
