Get Ready to Roll Up Your Sleeve
Starting October 23 residents across Saskatchewan will be encouraged to roll up their sleeves for the annual influenza vaccination. Free flu shots will be available at public health clinics across the province and are open to everyone. Several pharmacies and physician's office will also offer the flu shot shots, however there may be a fee for service at these locations. Influenza is more serious than the common cold and can cause significant illness, even death, especially in more vulnerable populations. A number of people get seriously ill every flu season and sadly deaths occur due to influenza. We strongly urge members of the public to get immunized and help minimize illness and complications in our communities, commented Dr. David Torr, Medical Health Officer for the Health Region.
