Construction Continues on Jim Pattison Children's Hospital
According to the latest update, the construction of the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital is now 70 percent complete. The building is now at its final shape with all levels of the hospital, including the helipad, structurally complete, with the project remaining on time and on budget. The Government of Saskatchewan is contributing $235.5 million toward the total project cost of $285.2 million, and $21.4 million will come from interest in investments. In addition, the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation is contributing $75 million through its fundraising campaign.
Once completed, the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital will better meet the needs of our province's children and expecting mothers and families by enhancing child-patient care, and enabling the recruitment and retention of pediatric specialists. The hospital is scheduled to open in late 2019.
