City Continues Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory

Neighborhoods of the Highland Subdivision in Swift Current continue to deal with a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory. The notification was made Wednesday morning by the City of Swift Current in conjunction with the Water Security Agency. The area affected include ZONE 1 and part of ZONE 2 Swift Current: Highland and Trail Subdivisions, described as all properties north of the TransCanada Highway and west of Central Avenue/Highway 4, excluding industrial properties west of Highland Subdivision. This advisory will remain in effect for 48-72 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. Due to the high number of impacted properties, notices WILL NOT be placed on front doors in these neighborhoods. The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory was put in place as a result of depressurization of the water distribution system, and will be lifted by the Water Security Agency following the pressurization of the system and the receipt of two consecutive sets of negative samples from the City.
